Frequently Asked Questions
Is this service really free? Are there any "catches"?
Yes, the service is 100% free and there are no "catches" whatsoever.
We have started this whole project at our own expense and we intend to keep it that way, since it is an offer from us to all the bicycle owners that feel and share the same love for their bicycles, as we do.
What happens to my disclosed personal information and data?
We have taken all the necessary steps and precautions towards safeguarding your personal information and data in order to protect your digital as well as your real identity from malicious third parties.
We would like to also inform you that your information is for no reason shared with third parties for any purpose, either commercial or other.
Based on the European Data Protection Directive (GDPR), you are welcome to request from us, through our Contact Us page, to provide you with all the information we have collected about you and you may also request the deletion of all your information, the same way as mentioned above, but it must come to your knowledge that this will have the negative effect of reducing the functionality of the free service we provide you with.
Please also read the terms and conditions of our site.
Can I search a frame serial number without being a member?
Of course! You can do as many searches as you wish, without being a member, by following the link here.
However, we recommend that you become a member in order to take full advantage of the free and complete service we provide, so that your new or used bike is registered with your personal information. You therefore take the extra step into minimizing the chances of it being stolen and resold.
What differentiates a simple user from a member?
A simple user can browse our site, contact us and search for any frame number they want.
Members enjoy the full support of our free service as they have a significant level of security for their bikes as the chassis number will now be registered on their personal information. This means that even if one or more of their bikes are stolen, our member automatically informs the status of his bike as stolen within our database and we report it directly to the authorities. So, if anyone tries to sell the bike to a third party and this person searches for the chassis number on our website, he or she will immediately know that the bike is registered as stolen in our database and will contact us to make a joint effort in order for us to track the bicycle's thief with the help of the authorities of your city.
If you are not yet a member you can register here.
There is also an effort to merge our site with most bike retailers so that we can all try to crack down on bicycle theft. If you are or have a relationship with a bicycle retailer please contact us here.
